A wonderful ring, the design is attributed to the Artificers' Guild and dating to c1910. It is a fine and delicate ring, in a beautiful design which looks stunning when worn. The contrast between the yellow gold and the bright plum-coloured amethyst is superb! As you can see, there is a central round, faceted amethyst stone which is bezel set.
There are two clusters of three berries above and below the stone, from which three typical Artificers' Guild leaves emanate. Single berries punctuate these leaves at both the top and the bottom. I love the strong shoulders to the ring, which have almost flattened rivet-like connections, two each at the point where the shoulders meet the face of the ring and one where the two bands of the ring come together on each side. There is a very fine, ropework strand running around the connection of the two shanks. The ring is not marked but tests as 14ct gold.
It is a UK size S, which is approx. Size 9 in US sizing. The face of the ring measures approx.A beautifully romantic gem, highlighting the very best in Arts and Crafts design. A beautiful thing indeed which will be sent by International Tracked and Signed from Italy. Box in images is for display only, however, I will include a lovely new gift box.
