All original with lots of stunning details and in super order. The chains are all original and fasten with the original handmade T bar and catch. The bar, distinctively, has a little grouping of three silver balls on it and the circular catch, through which it passes, has a little silver ball on either side.
The festoon part of the necklace begins on each side with a trio of silver circles, set with a silver ball to the centre. Two chains run from each of these, one set runs to the top silver feature , which looks like a grouping of silver balls in a forget-me-not shape (with an extra silver ball on the top), meanwhile the second set of chains run to the main pendant section. The large faceted stone is possibly paste but the colour is a wonderful light shade of plum, which perfectly fits the openness and lightness of the design. The stone is bezel set with the typical rope work detailing around the base. Alternately there are groupings of three circles, then 1, in the four sections of the main pendant. The circles are punctuated in various places by small silver balls and by flattened silver circles. Very much representing the features used in a lot of the Arts and Crafts work done in Birmingham c1900.
In super order, both the silver detailing and the sparkly, faceted stone, the chains are original too. A rare piece to acquire. The necklace measures approx 44cm (17 inches) in length so sits comfortably just under the throat. Many thanks and please do ask if you have any further questions. Please note the box is for display purposes only and the necklace will be securely boxed in another box for safe passage.
