A Rare Arts and Crafts Chair Circa 1900 in the Manner of Ernest Archibald Taylor & The Glasgow School of Arts and Crafts. The pierced cut out tulips to the back have long tapering stems. Also the sides of the padded back rest support. Also taper in the same way as the tulip stems , widening at the base.
As shown in photo 8. The Upper yoke to the back curves across its face as well as along the top and has a pierced cut out at its centre. Turned legs and lower stretchers. NEWLY upholstered in the traditional manner with all new webbing , horsehair filling and top fabric by Liberty & co. The design is'Liberty Ianthe'.
I believe the wood is Walnut. (The walnut table is also available for sale in a separate listing- see my other listings).
