ORIGINAL GENUINE UN RESTORED ALL METAL ZINC? Following is a message received as result of request for information. You may be interested to know this is a Pither Radiant Stove. I have done some research into Pither Stoves, though there is not a great deal to go on.
I can tell you this model was still available in the 1950s and I believe was called'the persian', though the trade card I have dose not illustrate it. Some parts, such as the firebricks which go at the back of the stove, are still available from Grenadier Firelighters Ltd (who sent me a copy of the 1950s trade card). The stove runs on anthracite beans, and is hopper fed. They can burn unattended for hours on end. Your model seems to be very large, and I imagine would be ideal for heating an entrance hall or similar in a large country house. I think if such a model was installed in a more modest home it would prove somewhat overbearing. TOP FEED WITH ORIGINAL MATCHING METAL ACCESS COVER. RIVETED METAL CONSTRUCTION ALL GOOD EXCEPT METAL GRILL AROUND TOP OF FRONT AND SIDES RUSTY AND IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT (SEE PICS). GRATE LOOKS LIKE MAJORITY THERE BUT INCOMPLETE SO AGAIN REPLACEMENT REQUIRED. The item "Arts and Crafts (zinc) Style Pither Persian fire/stove for restoration" is in sale since Monday, June 12, 2017.
