The original switch parts are long gone as is usual with these old lamps. The solid side of the switch case has a drilled hole about 3/8th of an inch in it and that's larger than it should be, my only guess is that it was adapted to take the power cable or a Pifco, or similar, 1 amp push on/off switch. The adjustable top and bottom parts seem to work reasonably, at least they hold the weight of the shade in the photos. Not a mint condition lamp but not too bad condition all the same and reflected in the price.
