This pair of early 20th century oak bookcases have a Cotswold School look, with the chamfered edges also hinting at the Arts and Crafts Aesthetic Movement. These are substantially made from inch-thick oak boards, and are correspondingly weighty. The oak some some attractive graining and the colour is a pleasant deep golden oak shade. A dab of soft wax and some elbow grease would bring up the finish to a glowing lustre if required.
SIZES: height is 36", width 14" and depth 9. The shelf heights are 12", 9" and 8.
CONDITION: these bookcases are in good antique condition, with normal signs of age and use. Please note a small old repair to a top corner and a hairline in one top, where the boards are joined - not a split, just a very minor line that can be filled with hard wax if required. Please see pictures for a better idea.
