These are all easy jobs for someone who knows what they are doing and I considered repairing them myself but in honesty this is too good a piece for an amateur to mess up. S and H Jewell were fine quality cabinet makers who were established in 1830. They were a family business who worked from their premises at 29-31 Little Queen Street, Holborn, in London and then later to Parker Street, LONDON. Heals was established in 1810 as a feather-dressing business by John Harris Heal and his son, John Harris Heal Junior. In 1818 the business moved to Tottenham Court Road, London and expanded into bedding, bedstead, furniture manufacture and into retailing.
By the end of the nineteenth century it was one of the best-known furniture suppliers in London. If you would like to collect your item we are happy to accept cash on collection.
