Antique Carved Arts and Crafts Japanese Sunflower Table from Liberty of London F

  
Beautiful octagonal carved table with shaped legs. These tables were hand carved in Japan for Liberty & Co during the early 1900's, they were commissioned by Liberty as part of their more exotic range of antique furniture when there was fashion for everything Japanese. They were hand carved by Japanese fishermen, made in numbered sections, (this table has the number 853 underneath both tiers) for easy packing and transportation, and assembled at the "Eastern Bazaar" in their Regent Street headquarters in London.
