For sale is this neatly proportioned and gently restored arts and crafts cast iron fire surround, reclaimed from a country property in Cheshire. It is a lovely piece from the turn of the century. It has been carefully and professionally stripped, then given a protective heatproof coating and burnished to bring out its original period character. The entire surround is made of solid cast iron in excellent condition, with foundry marks on the reverse. It has aged beautifully with lots of texture in the patina.

During restoration we retained the original mantle and added a discreet set of freestanding (can be removed) bars. The final look is beautiful and will instantly add character to your home.

It has discreet mounting lugs beneath the shelf for simple and safe installation. A couple of strong screws will secure it to the wall. 60cm wide at legs, widening to 64cm at lugs. The rear projection of this fire surround is 1cm, meaning it will fit nicely over an existing opening but could go against a flat wall with a little fiddling.
