Antique Liberty Carved Arts and Crafts Ebonise Japanese Console Table featuring a dragon chasing a pearl. These tables were hand carved in Japan for Liberty & Co during the early 1900's, they were commissioned by Liberty as part of their more exotic range of antique furniture when there was fashion for everything Japanese. They were hand carved by Japanese fishermen, made in numbered sections, (this table has the number 235 underneath both tiers) for easy packing and transportation, and assembled at the "Eastern Bazaar" in their Regent Street headquarters in London. There is no retailers mark but clearly a Liberty piece. Dimensions: 70cm wide x 53cm deep x 68cm high.
