Antique Oak Carved Stool Arts and Crafts Nudes English with Original Finish

  

This is a beautiful & unusual Antique Carved English Oak Arts & Crafts Stool. One of the most unusual i have ever found, a remarkable stool in original condition with original varnished finish. The stool has a rectangular top that is heavily carved with typical Arts & Crafts detailing and a carved detailed rim.

The two legs are set slightly splayed with a carved stretcher that is peg jointed at each end. The stretcher has a sun ray and floral carving. The legs have an arts and crafts border detailing. On each leg there is a nude topless female carving, the two carvings are highly stylised, well detailed and very unusual.

The stool is in very good condition. The finish is original and very good with only minor wear.

The stool has been lightly waxed. The legs and joints are solid. The finish can be refreshed or built of with the occasional coat of wax.
