This splendid antique easy chair is an Arts and Crafts period design made by Shapland and Petter of Barnstaple. This quality chair has a great deal of aesthetic and visual appeal and would look quite mouth watering with some seat and back cushions in an appropriate colour and material. CONDITION REPORT: the chair is generally in an excellent condition, with a sound and solid frame The canework on the back is taught and tidy. There is a slight sag on the seat caning and a very small hole, hard to see unless you scrutinise it. There are a few dark spots on the back of one upright (see image) which would indicate some historic but very minor worm holes having been filled. Please see images for a better idea.
