, the upholstery removed and replaced with a new real rush seat, and the loose joints glued and clamped. It is a beautiful piece and very typical of the period.
I believe its rare to find a Wyburd chair of this style - the matching drawing/library tables are available but Ive yet to find a chair. The chair does require a repair to one of the round back parts. I did not feel confident tackling this task so I have left for the new owner to decide whether to have it repaired or leave it as-is. The damaged parts are attached to each other so the chair can be sat on without risk. The chair also has a couple of historic nail holes in it but are not severe and add to its overall age and patina.
