To me, however, it was much more Artificer's Guild, to whom it is attributed. It is intricately hand crafted and the detailing is really of the best quality. You only need to look at the knot details and the veins on the leaves to see the genius of the maker. It looks like it has a gold pin too.... A spectacular and substantial design.
Everything you would expect to find on an antique c1900 piece, draped and detailed leaves and clusters of berries (some single dotted on the periphery of the brooch and groupings of three integrated into the main design - all typical of Artificer's Guild). The knots, one at the top and one at the bottom of the design are just lovely touches and you can see where the silver wires have been threaded at the back. A beautiful, authentic piece of design history in superb condition.
It measures approx 5.6cm by approx 3.2cm. No marks, which was typical for this era. Exquisite hand crafted piece which undoubtedly took hours and hours of precise work to craft. The pin looks like it is gold...
Probably constructed like this originally by the looks of it. Box in the images is for display purposes only but I will provide a new box to keep the brooch safe. This item is in the category "Jewellery & Watches\Vintage & Antique Jewellery\Brooches & Pins".
