This beautiful hand crafted piece is a labour of love and a true example of what can be achieved when passion meets skill. The frame is hand carved from what I believe to be Maple, and the seat, hand woven cane, Circa 1900's. Its ornate structure displays interwoven symmetrical scroll work complimented by beautiful natural ageing wood all supported by flared county style legs. The proportions are exquisite which is why it looks so beautiful from every angle.
Possibly of French origin but its provenance it unknown. Perfect accent chair, or perhaps a generational gift for a special child in the family. An interior designers dream this is truly a one-off décor piece.
Offered in good condition - wear commensurate with age and use, there are two repairs, the main one to the back rail - but both sympathetically repaired and not at all glaring. There are some woodworm holes which look to have been treated in the past - and treated again by myself for safeguarding. Please study the photos as they do form part of the description.
