Large antique Arts & Crafts dark wood, gesso and copper gilt picture frame, 1884

  

Large antique Arts & Crafts dark wood, gesso and copper gilt frame. The oil painting that was in this frame was dated 1884, and the frame dates from that time. Painting removed for cleaning approx 30 years ago, hence the remnants of newish tape on the reverse of the frame.

A few chips and cracks in the gesso, see photos (more can be sent on request), generally good order, the joints are tight, no sign of woodworm. Height: 74cm (29 & 1/8 inches). Width: 63.5cm (25 inches). Height: 61.7cm (24 1/4 inches). Width: 51cm (28 1/8 inches).
