The tables were imported by Arthur Liberty for his Eastern Bazaar range which sprang from the Gilbert and Sullivan Opera "The Mikado" of 1885 where he supplied many of the silks and costumes for the production. They were transported in flat pack form and assembled at the "Eastern Bazaar" in their Regent Street headquarters in London. These tables were advertised as part of their "Hand Carved and Inlaid Woodwork" range of goods in the Liberty & Co Store.
Advertised in the Liberty & Co Yuletide Catalogues each year. Each Piece is individually numbered according to their design. In very good vintage condition. Dimensions: 56cm high x 88cm wide x 50cm deep. I have two of these tables with just slightly different measurements.
