A fantastic, original, Arts and Crafts corner chair in the manor of renowned architect and designer Baillie Scott. The chair has a wonderful appearance and comprises of a wood frame with curved back rest, allowing the chair to sit nicely within the corner of a room.
The chair has a rush seat that is in very good order. The two sides below the curved back rest have very pretty inlaid detailing, in an Art Nouveau style, each depicting a stylized tulip or flower. The wood has been waxed or varnished and has a rich colour that highlights the attractive grain. The chair is in good condition and fully useable but is an antique and therefore has some slight damage and character signs of wear. The chair is stable but has a wobble.There is a metal stud at the base of one leg making it slightly uneven. The inlayed detailing has some damage. There is some fading or staining to the centre of the back rest. The wood has some small scratches and marks. Please see pictures for details. The chair is an unusual and very interesting antique item that has an abundance of character, perfect for adding period charm to a home.
