Solid Oak Heals Style Arts and Crafts Refectory Dining Table/6 Lattice Chairs
Solid Oak Heals Style Arts and Crafts Refectory Dining Table/6 Lattice Chairs. Heavy, solid English oak dining table of the Arts and Crafts period, and of fine proportions, measuring 511 (180 cms) x 211.75(90cms) x 26.5 (76.5 cms). The table top is 2.5 (65 cms) thick. The oak of this c. 1920s set has aged to a mellow, warm and rich highly desirable patination, and would be a feature in any dining room or kitchen. The rectangular top is made of five continuous pieces of very well figured quarter-sawn solid timber with cleated ends, supported by two square and finely carved supports, united by a low level stretcher, and on sledge feet. There are six stunning chairs, including two carvers, all of the Cotswold School style, lattice backed and again in the manner of Heals. The chairs are solid, have oak stretchers to the legs, and are complimented by beautifully coloured drop-in quality leather seats. The whole set is in excellent used condition. There is a small heat stain on the table (see photos) which is easily removed.
