Heading : An English Arts and Crafts Silver Jug with Hinged Cover. Date : Hallmarked in London in 1904 for Charles Edwards.Decoration : Of tapering panel form embossed with alternate short and long pendant hearts above a stepped base of octagonal section, the tall cover with nut and spearhead finial before the wide pouring lip, the slender loop handle emanating and ending with twin stalk and leaf form terminals. Weight : 386 grams (12.4 troy). Add water to the jug and bring forth the single malt. One of the finest arts and crafts silver pieces we have seen. Half pint capacity to the shoulder.
