William Birch and E G Punnett For Liberty of London Oak Rocking Chair C1890
An early 20th Century Arts and Crafts Liberty of London, William Birch and E. Punnett Oak and embossed brown leather rocking armchair, the back and sides with a chequered lattice of square panels inset with leather lion masks, rosettes, and Flowers the brass studded seat with a circular panel of Ostrich hide leather and bordered by a thick cow hide, raised on turned legs with a typical William Birch ring turned front stretcher and palm size roundals to the heads of the turned uprights protruding through the arm finally a pair of well shaped rockers. Now wonderfully restored ready for another 100 years this chair is a real Arts and Crafts statement piece. There are no signs of woodworm and will make a wonderful edition to a period or modern home. Sensible offers will always be considered so why not go ahead and you could own this stunning piece. Happy to deal with a courier if you can't pick it up, But too delicate for package by post.
