RARE Antique Arts and Crafts William Morris and Company RUSH Seated' Hampton Court' Chairs exactly as depicted in the 1911 Morris & Co Catalogue. (Photo 2) This catalogue page can also be viewed on page 250 of the'Liberty's Furniture Book' 1875 -1915 by Daryl Bennett.

Photo 2 shows the relevant page as it appears the Liberty Furniture Book. Beautifully hand crafted with broad back splats , unusual turning to lower side stretchers and rush seats above tapered legs. Examples of these chairs also appear in : The National Trust Collection , Standen House and Wightwick Manor and also in'The Fitzwilliam Museum' Cambridge. One of the chairs is stamped'G. E' on the inside of the rear leg and on this chair the rear feet are slightly more refined so perhaps a superior craftsman had handcrafted this particular chair...
